The first serious scandal during the festival in Opole happened during the second edition. In 1964, the artists refused to appear on stage. The reason was a change in the method of paying salaries. There was almost no performance on the third day. Fortunately, the organizers managed to convince the artists to perform.

In 1985, musicians from the band T.Love appeared on stage under the influence of alcohol. They did not want to leave the stage after the performance, Muniek Staszczyk presented a vulgar inscription on his jacket during the performance. “We were really screwed back then. In Opole, artists have had to struggle with hairstyles and costumes many times. These often did not appeal to the organizers, and above all to the then authorities. The hairstyle also caused problems for Stan Boris four years later. There were also scandals in the past. One of the loudest concerns the conflict between him and Urszula Sipińska. During the Festival in Opole in 1977, there were even fisticuffs. It started with information that Sipińska was preparing a similar choreography to the one that Rodowicz was going to present.
