– write the activists of the organization “Catholic Poland, non-secular” on a leaflet entitled “Satan has no rights!”. First of all, they are protesting against Nergal and Behemoth, who are scheduled to perform on the Mystic Festival stage on Thursday, June 8. They want to force the owners of the Gdańsk Shipyard to withdraw from the event, which is to last until June 10 (over 80 performers will perform on five stages in total). “We expect immediate intervention to prevent a blasphemous festival,” they write.
According to the Catholic group, “in the Gdańsk Shipyard they intend to blaspheme God and glorify the rebellion of Lucifer”
They also posted a petition online, which can be signed by people who agree with them, although according to the organizer there is no chance of canceling the event. The petition reads:
“On June 7-10 this year, the Mystic Festival, full of blasphemous bands, is to take place in the Gdańsk Shipyard. What is most outrageous, it is on Corpus Christi (June 8) that the satanic Behemoth, glorifying the abomination and sacrilege of Ghost and making fun of the consecration, is to play Host team.

The organization of Mystic Festival is part of the great campaign of ideological subversion, which has been carried out in Poland since 1989. Its aim is to destroy the religious and moral foundations of the Polish state and nation, especially Polish youth.
Against PiS politicians, but Mystic Festival is still valid
Also councilor of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Karol Guzikiewicz (PiS) is against the event. The deputy chairman of the Intercompany Organization of NSZZ “Solidarity” in the Gdańsk Shipyard accused the organizer of using the name Gdańsk Shipyard unlawfully. He noted that “the festival takes place in historical areas commemorating the events of August 1980, but above all on the waterfront at Elektryków Street, where on December 13, 1961, 22 shipyard workers died on the ship ‘Maria Konopnicka'”, and although the union supports cultural and artistic activities, “does not support satanic performances that undermine religious feelings and freedom of religion.” The politician writes:
We call for an immediate correction of the festival program so that it does not violate Polish law and hurt the religious feelings of other citizens.
Guzikiewicz stipulates that the lack of action will result in “claims for the damage suffered and monetary compensation for the harm suffered”. However, he probably did not find the support he was looking for from people following him on Facebook, because “ha ha” reactions prevail under his post.
For now, however, the only significant change in the Mystic Festival program is the one that has nothing to do with the protests. Godflesh will not appear on stage. “Unfortunately, we have to cancel our performance at the Mystic Festival because our passports are kept much longer than we expected at the American Embassy in the UK. We can’t travel without them and unfortunately we can’t do much about it,” informed the musicians who were supposed to play in Gdańsk June 7. Instead, the Deströyer 666 from Australia will appear on the stage. And after 11 am Nergal informed on Instagram that Behemoth is already in Poland (they played in Luban, the capital of Slovenia) and is heading to Gdańsk…
