In recent years, erotic movies and series have enjoyed great popularity among subscribers to streaming services. It all started in 2015, when the movie “50 Shades of Grey”, based on the novel by the British writer EL James, was released in cinemas. Five years later, the Polish equivalent debuts, i.e. “365 days”, which was the most watched Polish production in cinemas and the most watched movie on Netflix in 2020. The production, despite its popularity, did not receive good reviews and received the Golden Raspberry in 2021 in the “worst screenplay” category.
New Netflix erotic series coming soon
However, this does not stop other developers from producing titles in a similar climate. But the latest proposal of the streaming giant has a chance to be much more digestible than the above. In early July, the new South African series “Deadly Lust” will debut on Netflix, which combines elements of erotica and thriller.
The story tells the story of Nandi – a married professor who spends a girls’ weekend with her best friend Brenda. She does not think about her husband Leonard then, and the attractive Jacob appears on her way. They embark on a passionate romance that ends in tragedy, forcing Nandi to question the truth about those close to her.
The South African Netflix erotica stars Kgomotso Christopher, Lunathi Mampofu, Thapelo Mokoena and Prince Grootboom. The series was produced by Ocher Moving Pictures and filmed in Cape Town. All episodes of Deadly Lust will be available on Netflix on July 7.
