Despite the enormous publicity this issue has received, almost no one has noticed that Kate Winslet wasn’t actually drifting on the door at all.

What saved Rose from “Titanic”. Fans overlooked one detail
Probably everyone knows the climactic scene of “Titanic”. The main characters are drifting in icy water. Rose lies on the door and Jack clings to the edge of it, but in the end he lets go of the raft and drowns. Many years of searching for an answer to the question of saving Jack and millions of fans spreading the theory about the size of the raft overlooked this detail. The “door” that saved Rose from trouble is actually a decorative element above it.

The detail, although it seems quite important, in fact would not change the fate of the heroes. Although James Cameron eventually changed his mind about the character’s potential rescue, the design of the element itself would not have affected the final course of the scene.
