Ticks cause many diseases, and their bite has unpleasant consequences. In the summer, when many of us spend time outside, you should be especially careful, as well as keep an eye on children and inspect them after every walk. There is one place many of us forget about, and ticks love it.
How to recognize an infected tick? Watch your body
they are arachnids. There are about 52 varieties of them in Poland, but there are even 900 of them in the world. They feed on the blood of people or animals. Their bite leads to many diseases such as Lyme disease or tick-borne encephalitis. To avoid contact with ticks, you should not only use repellent preparations, but also be careful when entering high grass and take care of appropriate clothing – long pants and a long-sleeved blouse. If you’ve been bitten by a tick, don’t panic yet. It should be removed, and then the body should be observed. Contact with an infected tick is manifested by erythema, rash and flu-like symptoms. If you experience any of the symptoms listed above, see your doctor.

Doctors Sarah and Casey, who run the CPR Kids Instagram profile, urge children to be screened when they return home. Ticks can hide behind the earlobe, which is often overlooked. In the profile, the doctor appealed:
I know a lot of parents check their kids, but there’s one place I’ve never looked myself before. If your child has earrings, check behind the earlobe! Natalie had a tick on her earring stopper. She thought it was a pimple, but the truth turned out to be different.
