The bertsolari by Sara Haira Aizpurua has won the txapela of the 35th Bertsolaris Interschool Camponato de Euskal Herria. in the final that was played this Saturday morning at the Kepa Arroitajauregi pediment in Iurreta.
A total of ten bertsolaris participated in the final, representing different territories: Maddi Agirre and Sabin Abarrategi, from Álava; Haizea Telleria and Ixone Asategi to Bizkaia; June Aiestaran and Danel Etxeberria to Gipuzkoa; Haira Aizpurua and Ibai Lekuona to Lapurdi; and Kattin Madariaga and Eki Mateo to Navarre.
Igor Meñika has been in charge of presenting the session and Beñat Vidal has been the one who has put the songs to the bertsolaris. The jury was made up of Beñat Romero, Aitor Jimenez, Nerea Bruño, Lur Renteria and Oihana Aranguren.
After completing all the exercises, Aizpurua has been the one who has collected the most points, thus making herself worthy of the txapela; for the second time, moreover, since she also won the 2021 championship. It was Anttonmari Aldekoa-Otalora who wore it this time. Eki Mateo was runner-up in today’s session and Xabi Igoa from Bertsozale Elkartea was in charge of presenting him with the trophy. There have also been prizes for the rest of the participants.
This year’s Interesolar championship started at the beginning of the year and has covered the entire territory until June; Almost a hundred young people have participated in this edition of the initiative organized jointly between Ikastolen Elkartea and Bertsozale Elkartea. In addition, this year’s improvised bertsos championship has had the collaboration of the Iurreta City Council.
As Bertsozale Elkartea explains, “this championship aims to offer young people between the ages of 14 and 18 a place to sing and encourage their fans”. In addition, taking into account the local characteristics, other activities are also carried out in addition to the improvisation tournament, such as a written bertso tournament or non-competitive meetings for young bertsolaris.
