Dorota Kamińska graduated from the PWST in Warsaw only in 1980, but she made her screen debut in her first year of studies. She became known to a wider audience as Danuta in the first Polish telenovela “In the Labyrinth” by Paweł Karpiński. Although Dorota Kamińska was considered one of the greatest stars of Polish cinema for many years, her private life was not a bed of roses. Surrounded by a wreath of men and admirers, for many years she could not experience true love. “I was inexperienced, I didn’t know life or my husband. We started getting to know each other after the wedding – in one of the interviews, the first failed marriage. After the divorce, she became involved with a gynecologist, Zbigniew Chaciński. Initially, they led a happy life, but the spell was broken when it turned out that the man had a problem with alcohol. Then Waldemar Dąbrowski appeared in Kamińska’s life, whom she knew from the time of working at the Studio Theater, of which he was the director. They fell in love and it was for him that Kamińska decided to divorce her husband after 14 years, hoping that she would finally make a life with her lover. However, Dąbrowski had other plans and after a few months he decided to return to his wife. It completely broke her.

After that, she couldn’t trust anyone for a long time. She regained her faith in love when she became involved with Jacek Borkowski. Although the actor had a wife at the time, he maintained that the marriage was in decline. Their relationship was rumored for months, the couple even moved in together. Eventually, however, the scenario from years ago repeated itself. Borkowski decided to save his family and moved out of their common nest. Dorothy ran after him onto the staircase, shouted that she loved him and begged him to stay. She did not give him peace for a long time, she called him, recalled the actor’s wife. Fate smiled on Kamińska only after many years. In 2003, she found true love with journalist Piotr Pajdowski.
