“The Little Mermaid” and the “365 Days” series have one detail in common. Blanka Lipiñska revealed a curiosity from the set

What connects the latest Disney work “The Little Mermaid” and the series of screen adaptations of Blanka Lipińska’s erotic novels? A well-known Polish writer revealed a curiosity from the set of the last two films.

“” by Rob Marshall caused quite a bit of controversy before it appeared on the screens of cinemas. Some viewers were offended that the creators departed from the image of Ariel known from the original animation. At this point, it is worth recalling that mermaids are mythological creatures that did not really exist, hence the substantive discussion about what skin color they should have in the movies and what color they absolutely cannot have is very difficult.

What connects “365 days” and “The Little Mermaid”? Blanka Lipińska reveals

The new Disney movie appeared in Polish cinemas on May 26 and received quite good reviews. Critics do not call the production a masterpiece, but they emphasize the correctness of the image, and often even progress compared to the original. The films by Barbara Białowąs and Tomasz Mandes, based on the books 365 Days: This Day and Another 365 Days, evoked worse reactions from the audience. And we don’t mention it by accident.

The films of Bialowąs and “The Little Mermaid” differ in almost everything – from the audience, to the message and plot. However, as it turns out, Polish productions have at least one point connecting them with the latest Disney work. An interesting fact from the recording plan of the adaptation of her erotica was revealed on Instagram by Blanka Lipińska.

As the writer says, “The Little Mermaid” was shot in the same place and time as the last two films in the “365 days” series. “That’s how we changed a bit” – declared Blanka Lipińska. The words of the bestselling author agree with the reports of foreign media. Among other things, the Variety portal published information that the photos for “The Little Mermaid” were made on the Italian island – Sardinia. The choice of the place was related to the crystalline, emerald waters and rocky shores that perfectly matched the Disney frames.

Lipińska also noted that she had many more stories to share with the creators of “The Little Mermaid”, but said she would spare her viewers details. The writer’s tone suggests that not all experiences were pleasant and worth remembering.

Sardinia has been chosen by filmmakers many times. It was there that the shots for the 1977 James Bond movie – “The Spy Who Loved Me” or the series “Catch-22” directed by George Clooney were shot. Interestingly, crews wishing to shoot in Sardinia must adhere to a protocol called the Green Set, which provides for minimizing the negative impact of filmmakers’ activities on the environment.
