The actress swore back in 2017 that if another sequel is filmed, she already refuses to participate. Fans have been convinced for years that Cattrall has a hard time with Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays Carrie Bradshaw.

Even before the premiere of the first season of “And Just Like That”, Kim Cattrall gave an interview to Variety in which she pointedly remarked: “This show is basically the third film. It’s so creative. I never asked to be included in the sequel. I made my position as clear as possible. as much as possible after the third theatrical film, so I found out about the series like everyone else – from social media.” Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed on the “Awards Chatter” podcast in July 2022 that, in fact, the crew did not ask Cattrall to return to the role. Samantha, however, was indirectly included in the plot of the first season of “Just Like That” – Carrie writes about her in text messages.
However, a minor concession was negotiated for the second series. As reported by “People”, Cattrall agreed to star in one scene and will be talking on the phone with Carrie in it – a sequence that will appear in the final episode of the season. Variety reports that Cattrall filmed her cameo on March 22 this year in New York City and did not meet or speak with any of the cast on that occasion. She also did not contact series creator Michael Patrick King, but was dressed in a costume by designer Patricia Filed, who worked for years on Sex and the City.
Season 2 of Just Like That stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, along with Nicole Ari Parker as Lisa Todd Wexley, Sarita Choudhury as Seema Patel, Mario Cantone as Anthony Marentino, Karen Pittman as Dr. Nya Wallace and Sara Ramirez as Che Diaz. What’s more, the character of Aidan Shaw will also appear – the production showed a photo from the set in which Carrie and Aidan walk hand in hand through the streets of New York. The production is scheduled to premiere on the Max platform on June 22.
