Steel Panther is a band well known to fans from all over the world, which has also performed in Poland many times. The group is famous for its humorous and mocking song lyrics, and its image refers to the aesthetics of the 80s and hair-metal. The band plays hit rock and heavy-metal pieces, has already recorded six studio albums, released several albums from concerts, won a lot of industry awards and during the audition in the latest, 18th edition, the American singer did not hide that they applied to win.
“Standing ovation and you haven’t played anything yet”
The audience gave Steel Panther a standing ovation before the musicians even had a chance to introduce themselves to the jury, unaware of their phenomenon. Dressed mostly in wild wigs and tight leggings, the band members made an electrifying impression on everyone. To a surprised standing ovation, Simon Cowell asked the group to introduce themselves. It was then that vocalist Michael Starr declared, “We’re Steel Panther,” and the audience started cheering. Then guitarist Satchel added: “We decided backstage that we would give Heidi Klum and Sofi Vergara tickets to our concert and backstage passes. But of course not to influence the jury’s decision in any way.”
The vocalist introduced the other members of the band – Spyder plays bass and Stixx plays drums. Star emphasized:
“Mam Talent” is the best way to reach many people who haven’t heard of us yet and to show them heavy metal. We came to this show because we want to win.
“I’m thrilled with it,” said Simon Cowell as the band played “Eyes of A Panther” from their debut album, Feel the Steel.
The audience went crazy even more than during the announcement, and it must be admitted that the band – although very dynamic on stage – was still much more polite than during the usual concerts. The audience jumped, chanted and sang along with the singer. The camera, however, caught one viewer who was not interested in the performance and covered his ears:

Due to the champagne mood in the studio, the jurors had no choice but to stand up at the end of the performance to applaud the performance.
The Steel Panther group began their career playing covers, and in 2008 the band adopted its current name and released the first album with original material. Since then, the musicians have been recording new albums and giving concerts all over the world – they perform at the most important music festivals in the USA and Europe. The group received the award for the best newcomer from “Metal Hammer” for their first album, and in 2012 and 2013, during the Loudwire Music Awards, the band was awarded the statuette for the best live performances. The music video “Party Like Tomorrow Is the End of the World” won the Golden Gods Awards. The lyrics of the band’s songs often describe stereotypical ideas about the broadly understood rock’n’roll lifestyle and are largely aimed at adult listeners. The band is not afraid to show overtly controversial and hedonistic scenes in their music videos.
