International Children’s Day in Poland and other countries of the former socialist bloc was introduced as part of the campaign to collect signatures under the “Stockholm Appeal”. It was the first initiative of the World Peace Council established in Warsaw in 1950 – the magazine, in accordance with the guidelines of the USSR policy, called for a ban on the production of atomic weapons. Children’s Day has been a fixed point in Polish calendars since 1952. The UN, in turn, established such a day in 1954 as part of the dissemination of postulates regarding the rights of the child from the United Nations Charter. Member States have celebrated the holiday on dates of their choice since 1955. In Poland, we stayed on June 1.
Children’s Day wishes. Poems for children and adults
It is customary in Poland on Children’s Day since 1994 in Warsaw that the Children and Youth Parliament meets. Most often, as part of the celebration of the holiday, sports days are organized in schools throughout the country, during which regular lessons are abandoned. Trips to various unusual places or class outings to the cinema are also often organised. It was also customary on that day to treat children with sweet snacks and give them small gifts. As part of celebrating the event, wishes are also made to children – the custom is so established that often wishes are also made to these “adult children”. Here are some suggestions:
Children’s Day wishes
Happiness, health and sweets
for Children’s Day mom / dad wishes.
Because even an adult child has a right
To celebrate and have fun!
***
On the occasion of Children’s Day, it’s time to wish:
Let all children’s dreams come true,
Toddlers never lack fairy tales and sweets,
And for bigger kids, patience for adult life
***
June, as every year, begins with Children’s Day.
Let’s wish everyone we love very much.
Because we all have a kid in us.
Let everyone who reads this know it.
***
Let grown-up children have dreams,
Not only as Kupczyk and Enya sang.
Don’t let your boss annoy you
And the day didn’t last long
So that the wallet is never empty,
And in the evening debauchery reigned.
To say that life is beautiful
And your eyes were no longer longing.
