You can love cabarets, but there are also those whose humor, largely based on stereotypes, is not very funny. Therefore, it must be admitted that the task of making a particularly diverse audience laugh is not an easy task. One of the most popular people who has been working for years to improve the mood of Poles is Marcin Wójcik, who told how during a certain performance the nightmare of every cabaret artist became his reality.

Marcin Wójcik has been performing in the Ani Mru-Mru cabaret for years, and in private he is a great sports fan. A cabaret artist with a journalist from Wirtualna Polska about his passion. He admitted that he arranges his schedule of performances according to the schedule of the speedway league, and he visits the stadiums very often. Wójcik even revealed that he attends almost every home match in Lublin, and also travels to Platinum Motor Lublin in PGE Ekstraliga and some rounds of the Grand Prix.

Marcin Wójcik talked about performances for athletes: “This is a specific group”

As it turns out, however, according to the comedian, athletes are not the best target group when it comes to the jokes he happens to tell. The cabareciarz admitted that he had the opportunity to perform for the Polish football team, among others, but the athletes turned out to be specific recipients of his humor. The cabaret artist admitted that it would be easier if the audience did not laugh at his performance at all.

“It turned out that our representatives laughed at moments when I didn’t expect it at all. I told these jokes many times, but no one ever laughed at the moments they thought were funny” – says Wójcik. The comedian admitted that it was quite a difficult experience for him. No wonder, the silence after a joke is the biggest nightmare for a cabaret artist. Ultimately, Wójcik decided that he himself contributed to such reactions, he misinterpreted the joke and it did not have the right overtones.

Since then, Marcin Wójcik has not tried to entertain groups of athletes. However, he admitted that this was not due to resentment after the said incident. He noted that he would certainly make an exception for speedway riders at the PGE Ekstraliga Gala, and if there was an opportunity to perform in front of athletes again, he would try to prepare for it thoroughly.
