A musician joined the excesses of the Madrid scene, who now admits that they didn’t have much information back then and that “festivals were held without end”.

“There was management and indigestion. Those were the years in which there was no measure. There was no information and practically all of my first group died,” he recalled to Bertín Osborne.

The excesses were so great that at the age of 23 he collapsed while staying in London. This would be the episode that caused him to open his eyes after falling into addiction to psychotropic substances, reports Mundo Deportivo.

“I tried everything. The luck I had was that my intense years were few, and at the age of 23 the unemployment of a crazy life”, he stated his story.

But Osborne wanted to know more about Meccan, so he insisted on asking why the successful trio had split up.

“Each of us went somewhere and worked on our own projects. One day my brother said that the group has finished until today,” he replied.

One of the most famous members of the group in Spain also spoke about his relationship with his brother José María, who he recalled that they spent their childhood together and had fun whenever they could. They had a good brother-sister relationship “until the fame of the group came along” and everything got complicated.

What did Nacho Cano say about the return of the Mecan?

Nacho Cano was clear when he spoke about Mecano. The Spanish pop genre group saw their fruition in the 1980s and early 1990s, as their success spread throughout Latin America.

In 1998, the separation was officially finalized and since then there are those who dream of reliving that time with great hits such as “Hijos de la luna”, “Cruz de navaja” or “La fuerza del destino”.

Although the last word has not been said, there is no hope of a reunion for Nacha Can.

“I don’t think Mecano will come back because the life of each of them has already been very… thrown in different directions, and because it was, as it was, in the context it was, it was very good musically,” he said. said Cano in an excerpt from an interview that Telecinco also published on its Instagram account.

The musician opened his heart and was honest with these words, thus confirming what he already mentioned in the previous interview on “El Hormiguer” in May 2022.

“They were very fun years, very beastly, and then they were some magical years and the music stayed there,” he said at the time, before host Pablo Motos insisted if they would indeed “never get Mecan back together”.

“There are things that are magical, that are in time, that start and end in a beautiful way and then start to get tangled up because humanity is like that, no. Mecano left and left a legacy there that lasts and will continue, I will probably die and the other two, and the songs continue to play, but it is difficult for us to get together”, he emphasized in that last year’s conversation.
