Are your nails breaking and looking haggard? One ingredient may be missing from your diet

Many people do not pay much attention to nails. It’s a pity, because well-groomed ones not only look aesthetically pleasing, but also indicate good health. It turns out that dry and brittle nails can tell a lot about our deficiencies. Especially about one ingredient.

Shiny, discolored and strong nails definitely beautify the hand. However, many people struggle with various problems in this area. To a large extent, the poor condition of the nails and hands is insufficient hydration of the body. We will repeat until the end that the body without water is like barren soil. We can use various cosmetics, but if we do not create a solid foundation, neither nails, nor hair, nor skin will look good.

Nobody thinks about that

Many people do not want to drink a lot, because then you have to visit the toilet more often. This is very bad thinking. So let’s start with drinking at least 1.5 liters of water every day. After just a few days, we will notice that we feel and look much better. This change alone will be a good start.

Dry, easily breaking nails, apart from insufficient hydration of the body, can also be a sign that we lack something else. Often it is a matter of supplementing with vitamin A or E, which are known for their hair, skin and nail strengthening properties. We pay less attention to another ingredient, which is less and less in our diet – omega acids.

They are best known for supporting our immunity and brain function. However, they also play an important role in improving the condition of our hands and nails. They protect against harmful UV radiation and excessive water loss, additionally thanks to them the skin is smooth and firm, and the nails are shiny and strengthened.

Wrong proportions can hurt

However, you should not take omega fatty acids blindly. It is best to perform a deficiency test, because there may be more reasons for the worse condition of the nails. You should also be careful to maintain the right proportions of omega-3 to omega-6, i.e. 1:4 or 5. Too much omega-6 in relation to omega-3 can reduce immunity and increase susceptibility to inflammation.

It is best to choose proven dietary supplements or turn to natural sources of these acids. When it comes to omega-3, it is worth insuring yourself in linseed oil, walnuts, pumpkin or sunflower seeds, and of course fatty sea fish. The omega-6 oils are mainly rich in sunflower, rapeseed and hemp oils, as well as almonds and tofu.
