Aleksander Kwa¶niewski on presidential pensions: I earn, somehow I manage

– [I tak – red.] for us, the salary for former presidents has increased and it is now about PLN 12,000, which of course has to be taxed, etc. These are not amounts that – if you have a large family – can be enough, so of course you have to earn money. I earn money and I have to manage somehow – says the president, who appeared in the studio to promote the book “The President”, written together with Aleksander Kaczorowski. More in the video.

In the program “Politicians from the kitchen” Lech Wałęsa said that his pension is currently PLN 11,000. net zlotys, but he has been receiving such an amount only for about half a year. Previously, the benefits granted to him ranged between 5 and 6 thousand. zlotys. This is also mentioned by Aleksander Kwaśniewski in the book, half jokingly, half seriously, explaining that the amount was raised during the presidency of Andrzej Duda, whose second term is coming to an end, and he is still relatively young.

Aleksander Kwasniewski: This is not my last word
