Garikoitz Mendizabal and the Euskadiko Orkestra have just released a new work: Greed. This work is the result of uniting the txistu and the orchestra; Greed brings together nine songs by authors of various origins, with a total length of 84 minutes. Some pieces are unpublished; others, renewed versions.
The work was recorded last February in Miramón. It has been published under the Orpheus Classical label, and is now available in main commercial establishments and on digital platforms (Spotify, Itunes …).
Mendizabal is the director of the Bilbao Txistularis Band: “I would like to give the future txistularis more possibilities and more material to play accompanied by a great orchestra. In addition to the txistulari and the Euskadi Symphony Orchestra, the soprano Naroa Intxausti, the Francisco Escudero Conservatory’s girls and boys choir, and Iñaki Tellería and Marc Blanes in the production and sound have participated in the creation of the album.
