Dymitr Błaszczyk, as part of the realization of another material on his channel, decided to call this time to churches and check the controversial “price list” in force in a given place. As he himself emphasized at the beginning of the clip, his goal was to “study the market”. So the Youtuber called three sanctuaries important for believers in Poland, namely: the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Częstochowa at Jasna Góra, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Licheń and the Marian Sanctuary in Święty Lipka. – We’ll see how much it costs to order a holy mass. Is it paid or unpaid – the youtuber wondered.
How much do you have to pay for the Holy Mass? The rates surprised the youtuber
The Youtuber made the first call to the Marian Sanctuary in Swieta Lipka. The man decided to find out how much it would cost to celebrate a holy mass in the intention of the success of his marriage. It turned out that there is no price list, and the clergyman will accept the payment “at the mercy”. He also added that you can pay in cash before the mass or make a bank transfer. In the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Licheń, to which Błaszczyk then telephoned, he also heard that the amount of payment for the mass is defined as “what a grace”. Masses ordered for intentions are celebrated collectively, and as the YouTuber heard, individual ones can take up to several months. The fee for a collective mass in Licheń is voluntary, while the intention at an individual mass costs PLN 60. – It’s not free, just as much as you can.
The man was surprised at the answer he received. He expected much higher stakes. – I thought that the fee for celebrating the holy mass in the Licheń Basilica would be much higher, that it would be around PLN 150 – he said.
Finally, he dialed the number to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Czestochowa at Jasna Góra. Also in the case of this place, Błaszczyk did not hide his surprise, because the fee for the Mass intention also turned out to be voluntary. – Here from all three places I felt that everything would be free – he said after the conversation with the priest.
