She went to confession. In the confessional, she quarreled with the priest. She shouted: “Silence, servant of God!”

One of the faithful from the parish of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Chmielnik became angry with the priest she confessed to. The woman knew perfectly well what the priest’s role was in confession and did not fail to remind him of it.

Confession is not as much of an experience for an adult as it is for a young believer. A teenage child who has to reveal his sins to a stranger often leaves the confessional with mixed feelings and even a traumatic experience, if he has not found a priest who has a good approach to children. It turns out, however, that even for an elderly person, confession can be a source of stress. This was the case with the faithful from the parish of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Chmielnik.

The woman argued with the priest in the confessional

One Twitter user decided to share with other Internet users a memory of a situation she once witnessed in a church. She wrote: “To this day I remember an old lady in confession who evaporated so that the whole church heard: “Shut up, servant of God! I am talking to him, and you are supposed to pass it on, not discuss it with me! ” In the comments, she added that she was not a tough, self-confident middle-aged woman, but “a hunched grandmother, in a palette and a headscarf.”

Internet users praised the attitude of the old woman

Apparently, she was annoyed by the priest’s questions or statements during confession, and the faithful knew exactly what the priest could afford there, and when he should keep his reasons to himself. Rather, it was not that the priest did not want to forgive her sins, because the whole situation probably still took place while the faithful were listing their sins. Comments from Twitter users who liked the old woman’s attitude appeared under the post. They wrote: “Hooray for the old lady! On point”; “Wise Old Lady”.
