They fell in love and in 1973 they welcomed their son Łukasz into the world.

However, her relationship with Jan Nowicki was not so colorful – her parents lived together for four or five years, probably turbulently. Jan Nowicki confessed that he was unable to get involved with Barbara. He decided to devote himself to a career, because another family model was alien to him. “I had no remorse at the time for neglecting my son. I did not see fathers taking care of children around. I remembered that the guy has to work hard and then he can have a drink, ”he said. After parting with the actor, Sobotta has no relationship with anyone. After her death, Nowicki wrote a letter in which he apologized to her for what their relationship looked like. He was supposed to admit there: “I’m sad to say after the time I neglected you. Don’t be angry with me there. I loved you once. See you soon girl.” The actor died in December 2022.
