“My husband thinks I’m fat. He keeps telling me to go on a diet”

– He shows me old pictures of us every chance he gets and tells me how great I looked back then. It’s true … Three years ago I weighed 55 kg, and now I weigh 75. But that was before the pandemic and the birth of the child. He stopped buying sweets, and I don’t want to order food. He even points out the size of my portions and says that I should eat salads more often, writes Kinga in a letter sent to our editorial office.

Summer is fast approaching and all my friends have gone on a diet and exercise regularly. I also wanted to take care of myself and get back to my old form. Even my husband suggests to me that I am fat. He keeps telling me to go on a diet. He thinks this will motivate me, but it does the opposite for me. Every chance she gets, she shows me old photos of us and tells me how great I looked back then. It’s true … Three years ago I weighed 55 kg, and now I weigh 75. But that was before the pandemic and the birth of the child. He stopped buying sweets, and I don’t want to order food either. She even points out my portion size and tells me I should eat salads more often.

Although I have accepted what my body looks like now, bringing a new person into the world is quite a feat, I miss my old condition. I would like to go up to the fifth floor again without being short of breath. To be honest, I thought that my body would return to its pre-pregnancy state much faster after giving birth. However, it has been 1.5 years and I have only lost 10 kg of post-pregnancy weight. It surprises me that my husband points out my weight, since he knows that it’s not like I’m completely resting on my laurels in this matter.

My test results are good, I pay attention to what I eat, but I also allow myself small pleasures. I’m not going to go on starvation diets and eat only greens, because my husband is convinced that this is the only way I have a chance to lose weight. I’ve suggested to him several times that I know what I’m doing, but he doesn’t seem to understand. Maybe I should say something more blunt to him?

King.
