Television, to put it mildly, has a programming line less open to minorities than an international competition and focuses on nurturing traditional values. Therefore, moments such as the presentation of the LGBT flag by an Italian can be quite inconvenient for TVP.
Anyway, probably many fans of the international competition remember the TVP broadcast from the concert Light for Europe, which was organized instead of the canceled Eurovision in 2020. At that time, every time the transgender Nikkie de Jager appeared on the stage, TVP broadcast commercials. It is worth recalling that public television should not interrupt programs with commercials. No wonder then that there were suspicions of censorship.
