Jacek Cygan spoke about Blanka: We will hurt her

Already on Saturday, the final of Eurovision 2023. Among others, the representative of Poland, Blanka, advanced to the decisive stage of the competition. Everyone is discussing her chances of winning. Jacek Cygan joined the group commenting on the confusion around the artist.

In the second semi-final, Blanka did really well compared to the competition. Her song “Solo” appealed to the international audience so much that she advanced to the grand finale. Although her path to success was not easy, those following the Eurovision performances have certainly noted that the artist put in a lot of work to perform better on the stage in Liverpool than in the national qualifiers.

Jacek Cygan does not want to judge Blanka. “This atmosphere of resentment is dangerous”

Will the new version of “Solo” and determination be enough to win the coveted victory in the 67th Eurovision Song Contest? Opinions are divided. Some appreciate the progress of the singer, others say that she did well due to the low level of performances in the second semi-final. Some say that the artist has a chance to reach the top five in the final list, but there are also those who foretell her one of the last positions.

How it will be in reality, we will see on May 13. One of the most famous songwriters in Poland, Jacek Cygan, referred to the malicious, hate-filled comments against Blanka, which have been present in the network since the national eliminations. The artist emphasized in an interview with Onet: “No matter what the fate of this girl will be at Eurovision, whether she will drop out or enter the final, by arousing a wave of dislike for her, we will hurt her more than we imagine. Hate and hatred are not good company for the song. Already, this atmosphere of animosity towards it is dangerous, and it’s not her fault that she won.” He also noted that he would not judge her performance and quoted Miles Davis, who reportedly once said that an artist should not judge other artists.

As you can see, however, Gypsy decided to make an exception to his rule. Although he refused to judge Blanka’s performances, he spoke enthusiastically of Jann, who according to the lyricist is “a great guy” and the track “Gladiator” is “The perfect fusion of word, music and performer”. He also praised the chemistry that “you can feel between the artist and the song”.
