In finale! The Polish “BEJBA” and her song “Solo” appealed to the international audience so much that the artist defeated her rivals and went to the grand final. The Polish woman will fight for the coveted first place in the competition on May 13. It will be the fourth in line.
Eurovision 2023 not for Blanka? The performance of the Polish woman was assessed by foreign journalists
The road to the final of the singer was not easy. Just after the Polish qualifiers, Blanka met with a huge wave of hate due to defeating the audience’s favorite – . Social media was flooded with memes and biting remarks about “Polish Ariana Grande”. However, the singer showed great strength and distance to herself, she turned jokes and unflattering comments about herself into her trademark and focused on working on the song. Focusing on the performance in the semi-finals, instead of reading comments on the web, resulted in success.
Representatives of foreign media also commented on Blanka’s “Solo”. The Greek journalist assured that the song would be a hit in his country, the Turkish commentator was impressed by the general stage presentation of the Polish woman – “she looks amazing” – he emphasized. The expert from Spain did not like the visual effects on stage, and Blanka from Great Britain commented on the performance. The Icelandic journalist admitted, however, that Blanka’s song did not suit her taste at all.
One of the harshest opinions about “Solo” and Blanka came from Leon Kichler from Israel, a member of the committee that selected the country’s representative for Eurovision in 2014. As quoted by an Interia expert, he did not leave a dry thread on Poland. “It’s a stupid song. Blanka is a nice, nice person, but she can’t sing. She should rather take part in the Miss Universe competition than in Eurovision,” concluded Kichler.
