Colombian singer Juanes just celebrated the release of his single Poisonthe fourth musical preview of his highly anticipated album Daily life It will be released in public on May 19.
The song came with a motion video directed by María Camila Calle en co-starring Juanes’ son, Dante, in his acting debut.
Poison According to the author, it is a matter of empowerment. The song is about a past toxic relationship, be it a bond of friends, a co-worker or a romantic partner. Take the point of view of the victim, whose betrayal was so traumatic that it even caused health problems. But with a phrase like “your poison doesn’t hurt me anymore” he wants to convey the message of deep emotional growth that became his strength, so that the “poison” of that betrayal can no longer hurt him.
“This release is also extremely special to me, as I was able to work on the video with my son Dante, who did an amazing job portraying the inner child within us, fighting and finally conquering the ‘giant’ of pain that this betrayal,” Juanes explained in a statement about the launch.
Daily life marks Juanes’ first all-original studio album since more future than pastfrom 2019. This new creative cycle began during the pandemic quarantine and is accompanied by a compelling return to its roots of stone electric guitar and deepens his skills as a passionate songwriter.
