In 1967, “Sami swoi” directed by “Sami swoi” hit the cinema screens. The production is still one of the most popular comedies in Polish cinematography. The positive reaction of viewers encouraged the director to create more films in this series. Now work is underway on the fourth installment of the fate of the iconic heroes.

Today, the film trilogy is considered cult. After the success, two more films from the series were made: “Nie mamocnych” and “Love or throw”. Viewers fell in love with the perturbations of two feuding families, the Pawlaks and the Karguls, who leave the Eastern Borderlands after the end of World War II to start a new life in the Recovered Territories. The main actors, Władysław Hańcza and Wacław Kowalski, enjoyed particular sympathy. When the news that work on the prequel began, many wondered which actors would play their younger versions.

The first slap on the set fell in February 2023. As announced, the shooting will end in mid-June, but at the moment the planned release date of the production is not known. The comedy will present the fate of the Karguls and Pawlaks before leaving Kresy. The screenplay was created by Andrzej Mularczyk, based on his book “Everybody lives as they can”, which was published in 1983. In turn, Artur Żmijewski will be responsible for directing the film, for whom this is his film debut on the other side of the camera. Previously, he directed episodes of “Father Matthew”.
So far, the cast of the new production has remained a mystery. Now the portal has determined which actors will play the iconic heroes. As it turns out, Kazimierz Pawlak will be played by Adam Bobik, known from such films as “Woman on the Roof” or “Alpha Male”. In turn, the character of young Władysław Kargul will be created by Karol Dziuba, who has played roles in such productions as “Don’t worry about me” or “Friends”. A host of stars will play the roles, including: Anna Dymna, Zbigniew Zamachowski, Mirosław Baka, Wojciech Malajkat, Adam Ferency and Paulina Gałązka.
