The representative of Switzerland for this year’s edition of Eurovision had to go through a difficult road to achieve his goal. The competition there was very numerous. His popularity was ensured by winning in his native “The Voice”, and he entered the competition with a song co-created by a Polish producer. He also worked on “Solo” by Blanka.

21-year-old Remo Forrer has delicate facial features, but he has a breathtaking voice. In his childhood, he was interested in folk music, and in later years he devoted himself to playing the piano. He became famous in 2020 when he won the Swiss edition of “The Voice”. Later, he also participated in the German talent show “I Can See Your Voice”, the formula of which may resemble “The Masked Singer”. He also liked the local music market and is currently working on his debut album. In the meantime, he decided to enter the Swiss Eurovision qualifiers.

The qualifying rounds in Switzerland started in December 2022, but the method of selecting the winner was multi-stage. 500 people competed for the opportunity to represent their country, and the jury selected the thirty best artists from nothing. Only six musicians made it to the next stage, who presented their possibilities live. Remo Forrer was in the top two, and won thanks to the votes of foreign experts and numerous representatives of the Swiss audience.

“Watergun” by Remo Forrera was co-created by a Pole!

The Swiss released his Eurovision song on March 7. The song “Watergun” was created by Ashley Hicklin (responsible for Krystian Ochman’s “River”) and Argyle Singh. The third co-author of the song is a well-known Polish composer and producer, MikoĊ‚aj Trybulec, better known under the pseudonym Tribbs. The 27-year-old was a member of the band Linia Nocna, and has numerous collaborations with recognized Polish artists.

A little known fact is that Tribbs is also responsible for co-writing the song “Solo” by Blanka, which will represent our country in this year’s competition. However, these two songs are not the first times Trybulec has participated in the production of Eurovision songs. In the past, he collaborated with with Vincent Bueno from Austria, Lake Malawi from the Czech Republic and Krystian Ochman.

The young artist before Eurovision shared the message he put in his song: “Right now we are dealing with global crises and war. And we have to live with the consequences of decisions we did not take. But I still hope that we can change something.” However, from the visual side of his previous performance, he presented a simple choreography. He was accompanied on stage by four dancers, and the whole thing was embellished with pyrotechnic effects and changing white and red lights.
