Age did not stop her from fulfilling her dreams of having children

The world heard about Annegret Raunigk for the first time in 2005. She then became the oldest mother in Germany, giving birth to a child at the age of 55. This coincided with her retirement and the end of her professional career. She worked as a teacher, taught English and Russian in one of the schools in Berlin. 10 years later, when she already had 13 children, including 7 grandchildren, she was again in the headlines of many newspapers around the world. Thus, she became the oldest 65-year-old mother of quadruplets in the world.

In total, the woman has 17 children, with five different partners. Her decision to become a late mother caused a lot of discussion, not only among the people she passed on the streets, but also at the political level and in the medical community. Both doctors and politicians spoke loudly, explaining that the woman’s behavior was irresponsible, and decisions about such a late motherhood could have many consequences not only for herself, but also for her children. They warned not to postpone the decision to become pregnant until such an age. however, she refuted these accusations, explaining that everyone should make their own decisions and live as they dreamed. She didn’t care about the criticism of strangers. After minor postpartum complications, all four of them and their mother left the hospital in good condition. The woman herself in one of the interviews summed up:
