The designer from Almonte Christ Banez has died from causes still unknown, as reported by the Almonte City Council (Huelva). The consistory has conveyed its condolences to their family and friends on their social media accounts, in which it has also indicated that the government team “wants to publicly acknowledge” their work in “which has always carried the name of the town of Almonte”, where he was also a town crier at the fair last year.

According to El Mundo, the designer was found dead at home this Thursday morning, when his sister came to his home after not hearing from him for two days. Pending the result of the autopsy, the possibility that the cause of death was a heart attack is being considered.

The man from Huelva, 43 years old and close to the influencer world, was one of the most influential flamenco fashion creators and one of the designers who year after year presented his designs at Simof (International Flamenco Fashion Show). Thanks to his profession, he established a close friendship with well-known faces such as Eva González, María José Suárez or Vicky Martín Berrocal, who on numerous occasions proudly wore his elegant creations.

For her part, the mayoress of Almonte, Rocío del Mar Castilian, has pointed out that the municipality “has woken up today with the sad news” of the death of the designer that “has left the people dismayed” and has conveyed its condolences “to family and friends”. Likewise, he wanted to “recognize” the work of Báñez, with whom the town of Almonte had been named “in many places”, pointing out that “lately he was recording some television programs” and was in the municipality last week “to record from the Town Hall one of the programs”. “Dismay and regret in our town and of course in our town hall”, the mayoress concluded.
