A common mistake in heel care. Effect? The problem only grows

Cracked and dry heels are a common problem. However, rubbing the skin with a pumice stone is not a good idea. We have much better ways for you that will work during heel care.

When we have a problem with dry and cracking skin on the heels, we often want to get rid of it by wiping the epidermis with a pumice stone. However, it turns out to be a mistake. Podologists warn that this usually only makes matters worse. The use of pumice makes the skin react defensively. As a result, more keratinized epidermis is produced. So what can we do if we want to take care of our heels? Here are three simple methods that have proven effective in many cases.

Cheap ointment from the pharmacy

Vitamin A ointment can be very helpful in the case of cracking and dry heel skin. In such cases, we use it as a rich foot cream for the night. Therefore, it is worth including this product in your care routine. You can buy vitamin A ointment at any pharmacy. Its price usually does not exceed PLN 10.

Baking soda

It is also worth performing a treatment with baking soda in the main role from time to time. This powder perfectly removes calloused epidermis. Pour warm water into the bowl. Then add two tablespoons of baking soda. Mix thoroughly. Put your feet in the bowl and soak them in the mixture for about 15 minutes. Gently wipe the calloused epidermis from the heels.

Milk bath

Milk is a source of proteins, vitamins and minerals. Its properties are also worth using during heel care. Thanks to a simple treatment, you will get rid of calloused epidermis. In addition, your heels will be smoother and softer. How to prepare such a milk bath? Heat four cups of milk and pour it into a bowl. Soak your feet for about 5 minutes. At the end of the treatment, wash them with warm water, dry them thoroughly with a towel and use your favorite moisturizing cream.
