Vox dispute. Witold Paszt’s daughter wants to reserve the name? There was an objection: “We have hired lawyers”

Conflicts over musical achievements are nothing new in Polish entertainment. Due to dissensions between the members of the bands, we already had a split in the group Kat, Kombi, De Mono, Batushka, Łzy or Oddzial Zamkniety. The fight for the rights to the name and artistic achievements often lasts for years, and as the examples mentioned above show, sometimes the chances of resolving conflicts are slim. This time the problem is with the Vox group.

Vox vocalist and coach in the popular talent show “” died in February 2022. The artist released several albums with the musicians and recorded the band’s biggest hit – “Bananowy song”. The song was released in 1979, and it was composed and the author of the words to the music is Marek Skolarski.

Vox dispute. Marek Skolarski’s son declares that he and Ryszard Rynkowski have hired a lawyer

Natalia Paszt, his daughter, cares about the memory and achievements of the deceased singer. As reported by Konrad Skolarski, the son of Marek, the author of Vox hits and the band’s manager, the woman reportedly applied to the Patent Office to reserve the name of the band and the graphic sign of the formation in which her father sang. The action met with opposition from young Skolarski, who refers to his father’s great contribution to the development of the group. An extensive entry appeared on Facebook, in which he mentions the merits of his father. He claims that he was responsible for founding the band, inventing its name, image, group logo, hiring dance teachers, choreographers, and even downloading materials for suits for the band from abroad.

Skolarski emphasizes that he will not let go of this case because he is the heir to his father’s legacy. “Ryszard Rynkowski and I hired a lawyer who delivered our letter to the daughter of Mr. Paszt, who claimed the right to the achievements of the first Vox” – writes Skolarski, emphasizing the importance of the first composition of the formation. “I am writing about the ‘first VOX’ on purpose, because it was the first squad that won laurels – the international career of the formation was prevented by the introduction of martial law. In fact, there were three squads and starting from the second squad, yes, Witold Paszt could be considered a leader. We demanded that false information be corrected and immediate withdrawal of the application for registration. To this day, we have not received a response from Mrs. Paszt’s lawyer, “the angry man emphasizes.

In the post, Skolarski points out that a well-functioning music group consists of all its members. He emphasizes that it does not matter whether someone performed the songs or wrote them, “when one of the links is removed, the whole collapses.” He also states that he thinks the attempt to register the band’s name and logo is ridiculous. “None of the members of the group or their relatives have any right to any claims or attempts to take over the group and its achievements. No registration of the Vox group/band password is out of the question” – emphasizes Skolarski.

At the same time, the man turned to the musicians of the Vox group, encouraging them to express their own opinions on the matter and take a stand. He also noted that his patience is slowly running out and the case may soon end up in trial.
