In 2013, Polsat debuted its original program “Our New Home”, in which a renovation team visits families in need and repairs their houses, significantly improving their living conditions. The host of the show from the very beginning was Katarzyna Dowbor, who often felt very emotionally into the stories of the participants and was a great support for them. On Monday, May 8, the journalist shared a shocking statement in which she informed about changes in the program, which were decided by the new program director of the station, Edward Miszczak. In it, she confessed about her departure and the reasons behind it.

She directly indicated that the decision was not hers. She also subtly made it clear what she thought about the situation. “Dear friends, my adventure with my beloved program “Our New Home” has just ended. I was thanked for my cooperation. Ten years ago, TVP parted with me after thirty years of work. This year I celebrate the fortieth anniversary of my professional career and I was thanked for my cooperation with Polsat. New leadership, new order… and this rejuvenation of everything and everyone. After ten years of work, I have to say goodbye to the program that was probably the most important in my life. A program that was a mission and had one amazing message – it just helped people.
Many voices of support appeared under the journalist’s entry, thanks to which Katarzyna Dowbor certainly felt appreciated. However, the one that aroused the most interest among the followers was the one written by her son – Maciej Dowbor, who still works in Polsat and is the host of the program “Your face sounds familiar”.

The departure of the journalist was also commented on by other people associated with the media. One of such people was Monika Richardson, who spoke harshly about the dismissal of Katarzyna Dowbor from Polsat. “What to say, hands fall. Mr. Miszczak is bored, he manages it. Kaśka, you are the best. You know it anyway. Thank you for this program – you are right, it was a missionary program,” she wrote in the comment. She later added that she did not bode well for the format with any new host.
