President Joe Biden said he hopes a fair deal is reached in the contract negotiations.
“I sincerely hope that the Hollywood writers’ strike is resolved and that they come to a well-deserved agreement as soon as possible,” he said at a White House screening of a film celebrating the Asian-American community.

One of WGA’s requests is that the broadcasts of their projects be paid fairly, as well as transparency from the streaming platforms so that it is known how many times their work has been reproduced.
“Imagine being the writer of ‘Stranger Things’ and no matter how many times people have seen your work, you don’t get paid fairly, but they (the studios) do. Even if it was you who created those characters, that’s what worries us the most,” he assured EFE actress and writer Allison Dayne.
Similarly, they don’t want artificial intelligence built in to run the scripts.
