Ceremonies of the British royal family are always marked by strict adherence to tradition. Using four pages per monarch is one of them. Thus, King Carlos III had his grandson, the future king, 9-year-old Prince George, as a page. Among his other pages were Oliver Cholmondeley, Nicholas Barclay and Ralph Tollemache, among four other sons of aristocrats.

However, Camila’s pageboys were all her grandchildren or cousins: Freddy, 13, and twins Gus and Louis, also 13, accompanied their grandmother to her coronation along with Arthur Elliot, the Queen’s fourth nephew. The pages hold the long crimson robes of the monarch until they reach the end of the abbey.

In total, Camila has five grandchildren, all stemming from her previous marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles. His sons Tom, father of Lola, 15, and Freddy; On behalf of Laura, the Queen’s second daughter, are 15-year-old Eliza and twins Gus and Louis.

Despite not having royal blood, Camilla’s four pages not only fulfilled their duties during the coronation, but were also present during the traditional royal salute on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, which was accompanied by a flurry of people excited about the royal salute and the British air of the great plain. Camila’s older granddaughters, Lola and Eliza, were not part of the actual greeting.

It’s not the first time the now-queen’s family has been involved in royal events, as her entire family attended Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022 and Eliza was a bridesmaid at Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding.

“I like to be with them, eat together, go see a movie or a play. They are very enthusiastic and it’s nice to be in touch with this generation because it keeps you up to date with the feelings and ideas of young people,” the Queen previously told British media about her relationship with her grandchildren.
