The Getxophoto International Image Festival celebrates its seventeenth edition from June 1 to 25, in which it will reflect on “the political potential of the pause” through the works of 22 artists from countries such as Switzerland, Japan, Morocco, Ecuador, Mexico, Argentina, United Kingdom, Brazil and Greece.

Under the title “Stop!”, the festival intends to reflect because “stopping is not synonymous with passivity, much less disconnection”, as the festival organization has pointed out.

In this edition, 24 exhibitions will be programmed, most of them outdoors in the axis formed by the center of Algorta, the Ereaga beach promenade and Romo Kultur Etxea.

Among the outstanding proposals is that of the British artist Stephen Gill, who can be seen from inside the Ereaga elevator on its ascent and descent routes, as well as the unpublished work in Europe of the Japanese photographer, now deceased, Mitsutoshi Hanaga.
