For every fan of Star Wars, Order 66 evokes memories of one of the darkest moments in history that George Lucas began in 1977. For Guayaquil fans it must be seen again, it is the name of the group of collectors, artists, cosplayers, moviegoers and writers who have taken the responsibility to remember May 4th the day they want the Force to be with us, May 4.

They have taken the lead in bringing their action figures, books, life-sized recreated characters, and even their own costumes to the Guayaquil Municipal Museum to display the Star Wars Dayin a free exhibit that opened today and will be open to the public to Thursday, May 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m

Order 66 started in 2016, and the goal was cultural promotion interspersed with charitable activities for children and in hospitals and other organizations. “We are ready to go with the costumes to do activations and create spaces like this, where this part of pop culture is spread across all generations,” says Christopher Vallejo.

Together with the Cultural Management department of the municipality, Orde 66 has brought the sample to which all its members contribute for the second year. “We have artists responsible for making the costumes, collectors, like in my case, who I’ve brought comics from my collection, some approaching 50 years (from publication), he says, pointing to a number of titles based on the original trilogy.”

There are also recent comics (2022), which are still in circulation. They also accept contributions from people who are not of the order but would like to participate.

In the room there is a section for photos in which visitors can take a picture with the astromech RD2D, the little Grogu, a jawa of the desert or with the frozen carbonite version of Han Solo, one of the most shocking scenes of The Empire strikes back (1980). All figures are the work of the artist Carlos Soriano.

Anyone who experienced the thrill of buying one of the figures as a child can step into a human-sized replica of one of the famous Kenner boxes, from which the classic Star Wars toys were made.

The books section also includes photos and limited edition postcards that circulated with Diario EL UNIVERSO collectibles. “We also have autographs, awards the organization has received as the best podcast at the international level, and recognition from actors and dubbing actors, than our honorary members,” added Vallejo.

The Museum’s Director of Management and Cultural Promotion, Allyson Luna, invited the public to the special activity on Saturday, May 6, where actors dressed as characters take photos and interact with attendees. “Last year we had a great reception from the public, we opened at 09:30, but from 08:00 people were queuing to get in. We wanted to replicate it.”
