Koleus is becoming more and more popular every year. This unusual plant can be grown in gardens, where it can grow to a really substantial size, but also at home. As it turns out, you don’t need cuttings to start growing it. The propagation of Brazilian urticaria is extremely simple.

How to grow coleus? Thanks to these methods, you will properly care for the plant

Growing brazilian urticaria in the garden is not too difficult. However, keep in mind that this is an annual plant. At temperatures below 7 degrees Celsius, the coleus sheds its leaves and then dies. Caring for a perennial at home looks a bit different. With proper care, it will survive the winter and bloom again in the spring. To do this, place it on a windowsill in a room where the temperature does not exceed 16°C. What else should you remember about care?

First of all, coleus thrives best in well-drained soil. Make sure that the substrate in which the plant is planted is constantly slightly moist. However, be careful not to overwater the urticaria – too much water can be very harmful to it. It is definitely better to dry the coleus than to pour it over. Moreover, perennials should be provided with good access to light. When exposing it to direct sunlight, however, remember to water it frequently and regularly with soft water.

Koleus – cuttings can be obtained from the stems of the plant. Propagation of Brazilian urticaria is very simple

If you think that the cultivation of coleus should start with the purchase of a seedling, you are very much mistaken. It is enough that any of your friends grow this plant. Just a few stems are enough for the plant to bloom profusely. This was proved by one of the TikTok users. In his video, he showed how to propagate the plant in a trivial way.

Coleus can be easily propagated by cutting off the stem of the Brazilian nettle. Immediately after cutting it, put the shoot into the water. You will get a better effect if you use several stalks. After about four weeks you will notice that it is taking root. At this point, transfer the young cuttings to a pot filled with organic substrate, e.g. peat substrate. After a few days, the perennial will take root in the soil and begin to grow luxuriantly.
