Sanah once again showed that she is not idle and constantly thinks about her fans. In the fall of 2022, she decided to temporarily change her sound and shared ten songs with the world, which are her own interpretation of the poems. All the songs were included in the artist’s fourth album “sanah sings Poezyje”, for which she received the Fryderyk award this year in the category “album of the year – poetic and literary song”.
Sanah sang “Invocation” dedicated to high school graduates
A few weeks ago she released a new single “Marzipan”, in which she returned to her previous sounds, but on Wednesday, May 3, she decided to once again refer to the climate known from “Poezyja”. She posted a 46-second video on TikTok in which she sings a fragment of “Invocation” from the national epic “Pan Tadeusz” by Adam Mickiewicz.
The artist’s biggest fans knew that sanah would soon release this track. During the concert tour “Bankiet u Sanah”, which took place at the turn of last year and this year, the singer sang a fragment of it and mentioned that she was in the process of creating a studio version. On the other hand, the recording directly refers to her outfit to the last album, where we could see her in similar stylizations in clips promoting individual songs.
You can also guess that the artist decided to present this video on the eve of the Polish language exam for a reason. “Pan Tadeusz” is one of the required reading at the primary school level and a national epic, the knowledge of which is very often checked during the matura exam. One could also think that sanah suspected that such a reminder might be useful for this year’s graduates. Well, this position appeared in one of the topics on the senior dissertation.
The cover of “Inwokacja” is maintained in a calm convention, where choruses referring to monks are audible. We can read many positive comments under the published video. Among them are also numerous inquiries to the artist when she is going to release the full version of this song. For now, we just have to enjoy the shared snippet.
