British chef of Bangladeshi origin Nadiya Hussain, TV personality and cookbook author, one of the most influential women in the UK, as listed by the BBC, will cook for the coronation banquet of King Carlos III and Queen Camila, which will be this Saturday, May 6, at Westminster Abbey in London.

A celebratory lunch will be held at Buckingham Palace, where the King and his wife will return after the anointing and coronation ceremony. The couple announced it earlier the main course will be vegetable quiche at that event and at various rallies and lunches organized around the country.

This is a spinach, multigrain and tarragon treat, created by royal chef Mark Flanagan, and includes two of the king’s favorite ingredients, eggs and cheese. It can be eaten hot or cold and is easily adapted to the taste or dietary requirements of visitors.

And restaurateur Adam Handling is the one for dessert, with a trifle made of strawberries, cake and ginger cream sauce. It is accompanied by a series of sweet treats named after royalties. First, Victoria sponge cake (vanilla with jam and cream in the middle, favorite of British Queen Victoria), Prince Albert steak (Victoria’s husband), two-tone Battenberg cake and Queen Mother’s chocolate cake, béarnaise sauce, kaiser rolls, prince orloff veal, pizza margherita (in honor of Queen Margherita of Savoy), steak wellington (in honor of the Duke of Wellington), Prince Albert pudding, Duke Alexis lobster, King Christian cheese , Wilhelmina strawberries, Russian charlotte… the list is extensive and not as short as one might think at first.
