Children in sauerkraut barrels. The tragedy shocked the whole country
Let us remind you that the discovery, which took place on April 26, 2033, shocked the whole of Poland. The police officers who entered the apartment of 29-year-old Krzysztof N., who was then suspected of a burglary at 47 Radwańska Street in Łódź, found only his wife in his place of residence. The attention of the officers was caught by three barrels for sauerkraut, which were hidden in a cupboard and tightly closed. Inside, the mummified corpses of the couple’s four children were found – two five-year-old boys (twins) and two newborns.
The couple were charged with the murder of all four and the attempted murder of their eldest child. When Krzysztof and Jadwiga N. were detained, their two living children were adopted abroad. The Supreme Court confirmed the sentences for both. Jadwiga N. was sentenced for complicity in the crime to 25 years in prison, which means that she will be released from prison in 2028. Krzysztof N. was sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of early parole after 35 years.
