Luis Fonsi will offer a free show in Riobamba for its 201st year of independence

On April 21, 1822, the Independence Battle of Riobamba, also known as the Battle of Tapi, which marked the city’s final independence. To commemorate the historic date of its 201st birthday, the municipality of Riobamba has prepared a free and supporting show of the Puerto Rican artist Luis Fonsi.

The show takes place here Saturday, April 29 from 6 p.m, in the city’s Olympic Stadium (known as the Fernando Guerrero Stadium). To access the show, a mandatory registration is required, available at the following link: https://bit.ly/FonsienRiobamba.

Then you can exchange the tickets for the recital with that record and you can do so by donating non-perishable food or items for personal hygiene. The donated money will be delivered to the affected families of Alausí, Riobamba’s sister canton. The cash registers of the Olympic Stadium will be set up for this purpose from Tuesday 25 April from 09:00 to 17:00.

The show also features performances by Ecuadorian artists Johan Sebastián, Smooth music experience and Julian Pradda.

“The Luis Fonsi concert is a solidarity, free, safe and quality event thanks to the municipality of Riobamba, under the auspices of the Savings and Credit Cooperative. Daquilema and the UCEM Unión Cementera Nacional,” the Riobamba Tourist Board reported on social networks.

It is not the first time that the municipality of this Chimborazo canton organizes such events. Last year the duos Sin Bandera and Cali y el Dandee performed. In the context of the coronavirus pandemic, the concerts were not held in 2020 or 2021, the last until then being those of Silvestre Dangond and Reik. Other artists who have sung in Riobamba include Olga Tañón, Fonseca, Chino and Nacho.
