For Juan Luis Sanchezvice president of the ‘Francisco de Goya’ Choir and Dance Association, dancing is like break a barrier of shyness. Elena Torregoa member of the cultural management of this same entity, ensures that no one is excluded.
“Neither by his physical attributes, nor psychic, or anything,” he adds. Everyone has a place, insists Juan Luis. Even those who have never danced before.
“I had never gone to a conservatory,” confesses the dancer Maria Gonzalez. Thirty years later, María is one more of this association, a group that they consider a family. Julio César Valle, from the ‘Rosa del Azafrán’ Association, points out that the dance exercises memory and social relationships.
In these rehearsals, adults and children coexist, charged with preserving this legacy. From the wardrobe of ‘Francisco de Goya’, Eve de Lope, insists on the importance of the new generations protecting and caring for dance.
Adrian, a 5-year-old student, seems to do so. “I have a great time when I dance,” he confesses. These days they rehearse in a school where people with physical or intellectual diversity are trained. The dancer Carla Mouchet assures that ballet helps him in the learning.
“Every day I like it more,” adds her partner Ana. Even so, the work is hard. “It’s hard, but it’s not for dramatizing either,” Carla corrects.
The choreographer Pilar Muñoz points out that with the dance always takes out that me which is not normally removed. “When I teach, I try to get the student to connect with the dance,” says the teacher.
