Iker Rodríguez and Aukeran, Gipuzkoa Dance Awards

The dancer from San Sebastian iker rodriguezmember of the National Dance Company since 2018, and aukeranthe dance company created by Edu Muruamendiaraz 25 years ago, have been awarded the prizes awarded by the Association of Dance Professionals of Gipuzkoa (APDG).
Iker Rodríguez from San Sebastian began his training at the Thalía dance school and, after entering the Mariemma Royal Professional Conservatory in Madrid, he began a professional career that has led him to dance at Europa Danse Company, Dantzaz Konpainia and at the Compañía Nacional de Danza de Spain, which it entered in 2018.
Aukeran Konpainia bases his creations on “the balance between the traditional and the contemporary and brings together dancers from different backgrounds and styles”.
The dance month program will begin next Saturday in the Alderdi Eder gardens with the Dantza Kalean initiative, in which 13 schools and a total of 281 dancers will participate. On Sunday the 25th edition of the “Baranilla de La Concha” will take place, which turns the barrier into a ballet barre, to which 1,476 dancers from 26 Gipuzkoan schools have signed up.
The climax will put it, on May 28, the International Dance Day Gala at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre, in which Lucía Lacarra and Matthew Golding, Jon Agirretxe and Cristina Casa, from the National Dance Company, the Baiona Illicite Company, the winners Iker Rodríguez and Aukeran Konpainia, the Laussanne Dance Prize will perform 2023, Millán de Benito, and Arturo Lizana García, from the Mariemma Royal Conservatory.
