Iwona Wszółkówna was the star of “Nanny”, and the director of the series became her husband. Why then disappeared from the media?

Iwona Wszołkówna graduated from the State Higher School of Theater in Krakow in 2000. Later, she went to Warsaw with Tomasz Koty, where they decided to fight for better roles. Initially, she played at the Contemporary Theater in Warsaw, and only three years later she managed to get to the silver screen, where she made her debut in the sitcom “Kasia i Tomek”.

However, it was an episodic role, and she made her real debut a year later, when the new series “Camera Café” appeared in the TVN schedule. Wszołkówna played the role of Aśka, who regularly appeared in the series. However, it was her next role that was remembered for a long time. Of course, it’s about Jolka in the sitcom “Nanny”, where the actress played the title character’s best friend. In addition to the fact that this role allowed her to break out, it also made her emotional life turn 180 degrees.

On the set of the cult series with Agnieszka Dygant in the lead role, Wszołkówna met the director, with whom she quickly fell in love. It is said that Jerzy Bugajewicz fell in love with Iwona Wszołkówna at first sight. For her, he gave up his career in the United States, and the actress decided to leave her first husband, with whom she did not feel happy.

Although both were devoted to each other, their relationship caused quite a scandal in show business. All because of the big age difference that separates them. This meant that they had to face nasty comments about themselves. The actress was accused of being involved with the director for her own benefit. On the other hand, the director was said to be unstable in his feelings and would soon leave a partner 25 years younger than him.

The actress just wanted to start a family

However, that did not happen. The couple proved that they create a happy relationship, and after years they had two children: son Antoś and daughter Tina. Thanks to the fact that Wszołkówna and Bugajewicz worked together on the set of “Nanny”, they managed to combine professional and family duties. The director of the series even allowed her to come to the set with their daughter, which little Tina was very happy about, because she was always close to both parents. It also did not bother the rest of the cast of the series, who willingly took care of little Tina while Wszołkówna was recording her lines.

Today it is known that the woman did not get involved with the director to achieve any benefits. She simply dreamed of starting a family, and Bugajewicz turned out to be the man she was able to trust. This is also confirmed by the fact that the last major production in which the actress played appeared in 2014. Since the premiere of Under the Strong Angel, she has played only three episodic roles. In one of the interviews, she confessed that her children and husband are the most important to her:

I prefer to spend my time with children, not … scripts.
