Paweł Wawrzecki’s first wife was a colleague, Barbara Winiarska. For many years they were a compatible and happy couple, and the fruit of this love was a daughter, Ania. The girl from birth required 24-hour care, because she was born with cerebral palsy. The initial fight for her life and health meant that the spouses stopped working out. then he had an affair with , but openly said that he would not abandon his family. For several years, the woman lived in the shadow of the actor’s daughter and wife. Finally, Wawrzecki decided to save the marriage. Unfortunately, the happiness didn’t last long. In 2002, the acting couple went on holiday to Kołobrzeg. Unexpectedly, a few days later, the actor’s wife lost consciousness. After being rushed to the hospital, doctors diagnosed a brain hemorrhage. After a three-week coma, Barbara Winiarska died on September 18, 2002.

After the death of his wife, Paweł Wawrzecki devoted himself completely to taking care of Ania. He tried to combine his professional duties with being a full-time dad. He provided his daughter not only with the care of the best specialists, but also with proper education. In 2009, the couple got married, but decided not to go to the United States permanently. In one of the interviews, he explained that Ania does not like changes in her surroundings and because of her well-being, she divides her life into two houses. — My new reality is that I live partly in the States, partly in Poland. I work here, I am needed professionally here. I am needed differently there. We go there four times a year. (…) Here I have a daughter who needs constant care, but it’s all behind us.
