She added up all the expenses for the child’s communion and almost fainted. “I just can’t afford it”

Apart from the fact that in order to book your dream hall for your child’s Communion party, you must either be very lucky or know the date of Communion two years in advance. It’s the rising costs of everything that make people simply broken. Some take loans, while others wonder whether they should spend the day without inviting their family.

Communion season is in full swing. Some have been counting down the days for a long time, helping the child prepare, practicing prayers and going to church rehearsals before the actual mass. Guests have been invited for a long time, the room is rented, attractions for children are selected, the menu is set and appropriate decorations are purchased. The whole family, loved ones and friends will sit at the common table to celebrate their important day together with the child. It will be solemn and nice. However, unfortunately, not everyone is waiting for this day with the same excitement and joy. The reason, of course, is money.

More and more parents are faced with such dilemmas

The story of Ms. Basia, who lives in Lublin with her family, was described by the portal feminineinspiracje.pl. The couple is raising their daughter together, who will receive the sacrament of Holy Communion this year. Due to the fact that they have a large family and very modest housing conditions, they thought for a long time about where to organize a party for their relatives after the holy mass. The list of invited guests includes 35 people. A woman would like to host her family as best as possible, and at the same time not run all day from the table to the kitchen, but celebrate together with everyone in peace. When Ms. Basia looked through the offers of several nearby restaurants, she could not believe it. The average price for a plate is about PLN 200. Taking into account the number of guests invited, it would have to cost about PLN 7,600 in the premises itself. This amount is shocking.

In the past, a wedding party was organized for such an amount, today an average First Communion party costs that much

Basia admits that her First Communion is not a reason for her to take out a loan. After all, it’s not about celebrating first and then paying off interest for years. Especially since these are not the only costs associated with Communion. To them you have to add the cost of the contribution for decorating the church, according to the portal, it is about PLN 100. The price of a new, white robe ranges from PLN 150 – 350. And where else shoes for a child, an alb or dress, a wreath. Parents and siblings, if any, must also be adequately prepared. No wonder that Mrs. Basia almost fainted from shock when she counted them all. It is not known what decision she made. Every year, due to the rising cost of everything, there are more and more parents who really can’t afford it. They are faced with the decision to resign from meeting the whole family and spend this time only with its closest members. Some, in turn, really decide to take out loans because they see no other solution. For the price of this year’s communion parties, you could once organize a small wedding party. What will happen in a few years?
