Argentina, 1985the multi-award-winning Argentine film that failed to receive an Oscar in March won the Platinum awards of the Ibero-American audiovisual industry, which were delivered in Madrid this Saturday.
The feature film directed by Santiago Miter about the trial of the military commanders of the last dictatorship in Argentina (1976-83), won the prize for best Ibero-American fiction film of the year in this tenth edition of the Platinum Awards.
In addition, the film won four more trophies for best screenplay, art direction, value film award and best actor, an honor that fell to Richard Darin.
After receiving the trophy at the IFEMA conference center in the Spanish capital, Darín presented the award “to the incredible humanity of a man named Julio César Strassera”, in reference to the prosecutor who gives life in the film.

These awards are added to the many others won by this film, which delves into the investigation of the prosecutor Strassera (Darín) and his team of the horror that lived in the South American country during the dictatorship.
He previously won the Golden Globe for the best foreign language film and the Goya for the best Latin American film.

The Platinos, which have so far had galas in Spain, Panama, Mexico and Uruguay, are promoted by the Spanish Audiovisual Producers Rights Management Entity (EGEDA), the Ibero-American Federation of Film and Audiovisual Producers (FIPCA) and the Academies and Ibero-American Film Institutes.
The awards, first presented in 2014, take place alternately in Latin America and Spain.
