The FANT film festival will be held between May 5 and 13

He Fantastic Film Festivalorganized by the Bilbao City Council, will celebrate its 29th edition from May 5 to 13. The Festival’s programming was presented this morning at a press conference in which Justo Ezenarro, director of FANT, and Eugenio Puerto, programmer, explained all the details.
FANT has already been warming up with the projections framed in its PreFANT cycle and with different parallel activities, but on Friday, May 5, its new edition will kick off with a gala to be held at the Champs Eliseos Theater.
The feature film will be screened at this event. “The Fantastic Case of the Golem”a film directed by Burnin’ Percebes (Nando Martínez and Juan González) and starring Brays Efe, Bruna Cusí and Javier Botet, a fantastic hooligan comedy that mixes the darkest and lightest humor.
On Friday, May 12, the closing gala of FANT will be held in the Sala BBK, where the Estrella del Fantástico award, the Festival’s main award, will be presented, which on this occasion will go to Belen Ruedaleading actress among many other film titles such as “El Orfanato” or “Los Ojos de Julia.
Added to these awards this year are also the FANT de Honor that will be awarded to two big names in state cinema; Zorion EguileorBasque actor, musician and broadcaster with a long career and the director Paco Plaza.
The Official Section of the FANT contest stands out one more year for its varied programming. The selection will include 17 films, all of them premiered in Bilbao. In addition, in this 29th edition, short films will have a great weight in the programming, with a total of 30 proposals. Among others, they will be projected 11 short films signed by Basque filmmakers in the FANT Laburrean section.

The Festival, which this year has the myth of the invisible man As the axis and protagonist of his poster, he will return to the big screen “The Exorcist”, by William Friedkin, which this year celebrates 50 years of its premiere.
Tickets and subscriptions
Tickets for the inaugural session and the session of Basque short films can be purchased starting today at the Teatro Campos at the price of 5 euros each one, and they will also have the same price for the closing gala and the projections of the list of winners in the Sala BBK.
On the other hand, tickets for the screenings scheduled at the Azkuna Zentroa Auditorium and Room 1 of the Gólem Alhóndiga cinemas will also be on sale starting today at the price of 5 euros.
Likewise, a bond of €35 which will give access to numerous sessions, as well as morning screenings for the press.
Access to Room 2 of the Gólem Alhóndiga cinemas will be gratuitous until full capacity.
