Charges against the actor for manslaughter Alec Baldwin will be fired, according to a statement of the special prosecutors of New Mexico who monitor shootings on set rustwhere the cinematographer died Halyna Hutchins.
Stating “new facts” in the casespecial prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis they said that he could not “continue under current time constraints and on the facts and evidence provided by the law enforcement body in its current form.”

“Therefore, we will dismiss the murder charges against Mr. Baldwin pending further investigation“, the statement continues. “This decision not clear Mr. Baldwin criminal offenses and Charges may be filed again.”.

The decision to dismiss the charges against Baldwin was made after Investigators have learned new evidence that suggests the weapon used in the shooting was modified.a source familiar with the investigation told CNN. The Investigators will examine the weapon to determine the extent of the alterationswhich could have affected the operation of the weapon, the source said.
Hutchins was struck and killed by a live bullet fired from a pistol Baldwin was holding.while rehearsing the scene on the set rust in 2021 Baldwin has pleaded not guilty. Director Joel Souza was also shot.

The truth about what happened will come out and the questions we’ve been looking for for a long time will be answered.”
As part of a wrongful death settlement between Matthew Hutchinswidower Halyne Hutchins, Baldwin and the producers rust, continued film production. Matthew Hutchins is now serving as executive producer on the project.
The status hearing in the case is scheduled for this Friday, April 21, according to the First District Court. The hearing, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. local time, will be streamed live on the New Mexico Courts YouTube page. Judge Mary Marlow Sommer and attorneys are expected to attend the hearing via Google Meet.
