In the Star Wars universe series episode 24 The Mandalorian, and eighth of the third season, titled YieldDisney reaffirms his optimistic spirit, just as the Mandalorians cling to their planet, where there is still life despite superficial destruction.

The Mandalorian takes place in the era of the New Republic, in which the official version is that there is peace. However, the former generals of the Empire, scattered across the galaxy, jealous of each other but united in their cause, do not accept it.

The Star Wars saga grows with three new movies and Daisy Ridley returns as Rey Skywalker

The mightiest of them Moff Gideon (actor Giancarlo Esposito) has gone a step further and created his own army of clones with whom he wants to arm himself beskar (the almost indestructible iron of the Mandalorians) and endow it with the Force, which he intends to extract from a living creature, the Apprentice Grogu.

This is the episode where some fans of the franchise, dissatisfied or not with the series’ handling, predicted the death of Din Djarin, the protagonist played mainly by Pedro Pascal (gives him a voice and face) and in actor Brendan Wayne’s action sequences.

That was speculation Pascal wanted to leave this role because of “artistic differences” with the producers, and that he would agree to the character’s disappearance. While there are no signs of a fourth season, the conclusion of the third has fans getting excited about the promised ‘mandoverso’ movie, directed by dave filoni.

Another reason for Pascal’s alienation theories was the growing importance of the character of Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff), the heir to the government of the planet Mandalore, responsible for uniting the Mandalorian tribes and taking revenge on Moff Gideon, the destroyer of their planet.

Bo-Katan has regained her status, but she has lost the symbols of kingship and she has not been the one to defeat Gideon. Their planet is re-inhabited by Mandalorians, the Forge reignites, but is mostly contaminated and burnt, except for small underground farms cultivated by the survivors. He will have to rebuild a lot of work, as the path leads Din Djarin and Grogu to another trade, in another corner of the galaxy. To the disappointment of some, this is not a romantic series.

Instead of, Like the original Star Wars trilogy, it’s a father-son story., of families, even if they are not traditional. We discovered not long ago that the highest honor of the Mandalorian creed is to save a child, and that family ties are especially strong in a race on the brink of extinction. When Moff Gideon tries to grab the baby boy adopted by Din Djarin again, he counterattacks and destroys the (adult) clones with which the Imperial warrior wants to transcend.

To Grogu has agreed to become a Mandalorian apprentice, but it is clear that his talent is in the Force, and at some point he may need training. Will he meet the Jedi again in another adventure in 2025 or later? If the fans are lucky, it could be.

The final episode is written by Jon Favreau and directed by Rick Famuyiwa. Together with Filoni they form the creative trio of The Mandalorian, with guest writers and directors. The music for the entire series is provided by the Swedish composer Ludwig Goransson (Marley and me, Creed, Creed II, Venom, Black Pantherwith a Grammy Award and an Oscar for the latter, and Wakanda forever).
