Disney + launched in Poland on June 14, so July was the first full month in which it could be watched. According to Wirtualne Media, the platform had 4.22 million real users in July, which gave it the third place in the Megapanel ranking. The second is HBO Max (until March it functioned as HBO Go) with a result of 4.29 million. Subsequent services did not exceed the limit of 3 million – the fourth is Amazon Prime Video (2.99 million).
Netflix remains on top, though it has dropped. It’s not over yet, there will be more websites
Month-on-month Netflix lost 971.7 thousand. real users (down 7.2%), although those who still use the website spend more time on it. A decrease by 129.9 thous. users (2.9%) were passed by HBO Max – and here the average time of using the platform also decreased.
Disney + gains in both categories (compared to the second half of June), but even 531.2 thousand. users, an increase of 30.4 percent. it is not as big as in the case of Prime Video (698.5 thousand, i.e. also a 30.4 percent increase). You will find more data.
Considerable cross-platform traffic is certainly related to the widely advertised change from HBO Go to HBO Max, the entry of Disney’s VOD service to our country and the Prime Video promotional offensive. After the holidays, it can also be interesting, because in September the latter website is preparing the premiere of the most expensive series in history – “The Lord of the Rings. The Rings of Power”.
In addition, this year in Poland, a streaming service with a wide film and series offer – SkyShowtime, is to be available. Users under one service will have access to NBCUniversal, Sky and ViacomCBS productions, such as Showtime, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, Paramount + Originals, Sky Studios, Universal Pictures and Peacock. Perhaps A + E Networks also has a History Play streaming service that emphasizes productions for viewers interested in history.
